How it Started

Though I did grow up with the anime and always did love pokemon, I was a Sega kid and so never really played the games until much later, with Pokemon Collosseum and Pokemon Ruby.
I got one set as a kid and loved it dearly, but I was super into yugioh and found it much more accessible at the time. I briefly picked up some sets in 2017, I didn't start seriously collecting until 2025, inspired by my friends getting back into it and me finally playing Pokemon Sun!

I don't really play the game (as a YGO player it's difficult to play a simpler/slower game now, with how complex YGO has become), but I adore the art, and to be honest it's been more fun to have one TCG I only collect based on ~vibes~, instead of keeping a bunch of things I don't really like but "this could be useful".

Getting into collecting Pokemon has been wonderful, not only has it given me a deeper appreciation for TCG art and allowed me to reconnect with my love for Pokemon, it's also been a catalyst for me to bond more with my friends and even make new ones :)

Collecting Preferences

I prefer EN and JP cards - things I can read lol. but I really like CN cards lately and will also pick up KR if I love the art too!
With the exception of pokemon with smaller and more realistic to collect card numbers, I'm not really interested in being a 'complete set' collector, and instead I like to define my own collection themes to complete.
